The inaugural MI.WORLD International Conference 2010, organised by the Millennia Institute, gathered 58 students and 16 educators from 13 overseas partner schools to join with over 80 Millennian students for an educational and cultural exchange. Of these schools, many are active AEC-NET schools.
The objectives of the conference were to enhance students’ awareness of cultural, economic and social developments in different places around world through home-stay and school experience and to provide a platform for teachers to share their teaching pedagogies and experiences.
The 12-day programme involved authentic classroom experience, homestay, cultural performances by delegates, an adventure day-camp, a learning journey to Singapore Schools, International Friendship Day Celebration, Youth Olympics Sharing by delegates, National Education Amazing Race in the civic-business district of Singapore and Institute Day Celebration. For the participating teachers, there were sessions of sharing and presentations of pedagogies and school practices to enhance professional understanding.

From the feedback of students and teachers who participated in this conference, it is undoubted that the international gathering had achieved its objectives.
