International Prize to the students of Messukylän lukio
A group of students studying media and communications at Messukylän
lukio was granted a prize from Asia-Europe Foundation on Thursday for their
work for an international project. The objective of the project was to enhance
cultural knowledge between Asians and Europeans.
The winner of the first prize was called Cultural Fusion. The aim of the
project groups was to map special features in their own culture and present
them on a website. Messukylä students studied, among other things,
Finnish traditional festivals and not-so-common sports. The project was
completed as an extracurricular activity under the guidance of Eeva Tuokko,
the students´ teacher.
The Messykylä group consisted of: Riina Ainasvuori, Taija Järvenpää.
Suvi Eräpalo, Riikka-Mari Tuomela, Liisa Mäkisalo and Sinikka
Jussila. The prize was US$2500.
