“The Asia-Europe Classroom Network (AEC-NET) (formerly known as the Asia-Europe Classroom) is one of programmes developed by the Asia-Europe Foundation.” Wherein this foundation has its major achievement and that is “the establishment of permanent bi-regional networks focused on areas and issues that help to strengthen Asia-Europe relations.” -asef.org

Two different continents are interacting in one classroom, wherein everyone is in contrast to each with their cultures, languages, traditions and environments. It may be impossible to think that these two continents, Asia and Europe, can comprehend each other in spite of the differences that they have. They may not be the same but they are still one creation that God made as they are living on the same planet… We are still ONE in mind and in heart to survive all circumstances as we live on Earth and may come to a productive and joyful living.

I got myself engaged in this kind of network classroom by joining the different projects developed by the AEC. My curiosity persuaded me to enter this challenge, which our ICT teacher encouraged us to do. It made me think that it was a great idea to interact with different students from other schools from different countries across Asia and Europe.

My curiosity was answered by my observations while looking at the different projects on the website of Asia-Europe Classroom Network (AEC-NET). I had the realization that this classroom was developed for the students and teachers to gain and share new knowledge despite the differences in our kind, system and situation. By letting others know about the problems, issues and tragedies that some of us had gone through, we can share ideas and personal experiences. Even though we are far from each other, we can still know the truths, impacts and realities in other people’s lives.

Aside from gaining and sharing knowledge, the excitement thrilled and filled me with memorable experiences during conversations that were made while connecting with the people from the different projects. It’s worth the effort and time being part of this network. It was a wonderful experience sharing insights and points of view with different people. While learning, I can still have the enjoyment of understanding different cultures and traditions of different countries in Asia and Europe.

Truly this social networking class is a good example for the other continents. People with differences can still work things out. During misfortunes, we can still comfort one another through our ACTIONS! We all have different languages and not all of us were proficient in English, but action speaks louder than words. We may be millions and thousands in different classes of nationalities but WE ARE still ONE in ACTION.
