The 9th AEC-NET Conference is open to all teachers and educators from the ASEM* countries who would like to propose, or collaborate in ICT projects designed to promote to secondary and high school students in Asia and Europe. To enable participants to draw full benefit from the Conference, they need to:
(a) be proficient in both spoken and written English;
(b) has a keen interest on environment and sustainable development issues;
(c) have sufficient knowledge about ICT generally, and ICT applications in learning and training; and
(d) be prepared to share their experiences and ideas on ICT projects and/or propose project ideas.
Any information sent through the on-line registration will be kept strictly confidential. Please note that the closing date for online registration is Wednesday, 15 September 2010. If you are keen to participate in the conference, please submit your application form before the closing date.
*ASEM (the Asia-Europe Meeting) is an informal process of dialogue and cooperation. It brings together Austria, Belgium, Brunei, Bulgaria, Cambodia, China, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Laos, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Mongolia, Myanmar, The Netherlands, Pakistan, The Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, United Kingdom, Vietnam, European Commission and the ASEAN Secretariat.

Accommodation (twin sharing), meals and local transportation in connection to the conference programme will be covered by the co-organisers. However, participants will need to arrange and cover their own travel expenses (train and airfare etc.). The Asia-Europe Foundation can, in some cases, offer travel subsidy to participants to help defray but not covering their travelling costs. Upon approval, this travel subsidy will be disbursed after the conference upon submission of all the required documents. Please note that requests for travel subsidies are considered only on a case-by-case basis.

Please not that ASEF will NOT be able to consider nor provide travel subsidy to the following:
Applicants who are already supported (partial or full) or is already requesting for support by their school, institution or private sponsorship.
Applicants coming from Brunei, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Macau and Singapore which falls under the DCI requirements.
Approved travel subsidies for the participants will be revoked if they are not able to provide the following documents in return for the travel subsidy:

Letter from their school declaring that the school is not supporting the applicant and the applicant is not requesting for sponsorship from other public or private institution(s).
