  The AEC Award is intended to promote cooperation between Asian and European secondary and high schools, and to instill the spirit of intercultural learning in the minds of teachers and their students.

Six successful projects, which were developed in 2008 / 2009 at the last conference in Malaysia, were shortlisted and the respective Project Coordinators were invited to give a presentation on their projects at the 8thAsia-Europe Classroom Network Conference.

The panel of judges conferred the AEC Award on three of the shortlisted AEC Projects during the Conference for their outstanding achievement in advancing the principal objectives of the AEC initiative.
