Prof. Dr. Hans-Jörg Jodl received his diploma in Physics in 1968 and completed his degree in teaching in 1973. He qualified as a lecturer in didactics of Physics in 1978, and went on to take up post-doctoral lecturing in experimental Physics at the University of Kaiserslautern in 1983. His professional experience as a science educator included part-time teaching at high schools between 1970 to 1973, a scientific collaborator at TH Munich from 1972 to 1973, editing the science publication, “Physik und Didatik” from 1972 to 1994, being Academic Director at the University of Kaiserlautern from 1974 to 1978, and Associate Professor and Professor at the Department of Physics of the University of Kaiserlautern in 1978.
Apart from his research and publications on didatics of Physics and experimental Physics, Prof. Jodl was Associate Director of the European Laboratory for Nonlinear Spectroscopy (LENS) in Florence, Italy, between 1990 to1998, and has been a member of the directive council of LENS since 1990. |

Dr. Jewan Kim graduated from the Seoul National University in 1958 and received his PhD in Physics at the Colombia University in the United States in 1967. He was Research Associate at the University of Illinois from 1968 to 1972, afterwhich he returned to the Seoul National University to become Professor of Physics. He chaired the Research and Development Committee of the Korean Science Foundation from 1993 to 1996.
During the same period, Dr. Kim served as Director of the Research Institute of Natural Science, and was also the President of the Federation of Basic Science Institute of Korean Universities. He was part of the Presidential Advisory Committee for Science and Technology between 1997 to 1998 while taking on several positions such as Trustee for the Korean Science Foundation, Standing Trustee at the Asia-Pacific Center for Theorectical Physics, President for the Association for Scientific Culture, and Professor Emeritus at the Seoul National University.
Dr. Kim was awarded the National Science Award in1993 for his dedication and contributions through his works and researches. |

Prof. Fieschi obtained his PhD in Physics at the University of Leiden, the Netherlands, in 1995. From 1966 to 1972, he was Head of the Physics Institute of the University of Parma, and from 1969 to 1976, he was Director of the National Research Council Laboratory of Special Materials for Electronics and Magnetism (MASPEC), overseeing its development. He was subsequently a member of the CNR Physics Committee, Vice-President of the Technological Committee, member of the Technical-Scientific Committee of the National Center for Material Research and Development and, for two years, member of the Superior Health Institute.
In 1977, Prof. Fieschi was commended by the Ministry of Public Instruction, and was awarded a gold medal. For the past years, he was President of the Scientific Council of LAMEL Institute of CNR and is presently a member of the Technical-Scientific Committee of Agenzia per lo Sviluppo Tecnologico dell’ Emilia Romagna (ASTER). Prof. Fieschi was also part of the National Council of the Union of Scientists for Disarmament (USPID) and in 1997, Prof. Fieschi was awarded the Laurea honoris causa in Materials Engineering by the University of Lecce. |

Dr. Chew Tuan Chiong, Chief Executive, Singapore Science Center, has been the Chief Executive of the Singapore Science Centre since 1995. During his tenure, the Science Centre, already a well-known institution in the region, underwent significant transformations, including a 35 million dollar physical revamp that adds new facilities and feel to the Centre.
Dr. Chew is Past President of the Asia-Pacific Network of Science and Technology Centres (ASPAC), a former Board member of the Giant Screen Theatre Association, and also the Singapore Heritage Board. He is currently the Honorary Secretary to the Singapore Association for the Advancement of Science, a Council member of the Singapore National Academy of Science, and co-Chair of the National Science Talent Search Committee, and Chairman of the Science Month steering committee. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Science and Technology Centers (ASTC) and also of its International Advisory Board. In 2000, Dr. Chew chaired the organising committee for the APEC Youth Science Festival.
Dr. Chew graduated with a doctorate from Cambridge University in UK in 1988. A Chartered Engineer, he worked with Daimler Benz of Germany, British Gas in UK, and the National University of Singapore before joining the Singapore Science Centre. |

Prof. Gerardo Delgado-Barrio did his PhD in Physics at the University Complutense Madrid in Spain in 1973. He has written more than 180 papers in SCI Journal on atomic and molecular physics, most of which on Quantum Chemistry, Cluster Physics, Photodissociation, Dynamics and Molecular Spectroscopy. He is also an invited speaker for more than 80 international congresses, having written many books and journals on physical science. |
