| The fifth installment of the International Teachers' Conference was co-organised from 25 to 29 September 2005 with Beijing Jingshan School and supported by the Ministry of Education, China and the European Commission.
The four-day Conference in Beijing gathered together a total of 80 high school teachers and educators from 23 ASEM countries in Asia and Europe to initiate and/or participate in collaborative ICT projects.
A total of nine new projects were endorsed at the conclusion of the Conference, and three out of five AEC Projects completed from the last AEC International Teachers' Conference in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, in September/October 2004 received much support to be continued.

In recognition of their outstanding contributions to the objectives of the AEC, AEC Awards, comprising a cash grant of USD2,500 were awarded to three AEC Project Groups, namely, “Cultural Kaleidoscope 2005”, “The World in a Book” and "Utopia@VirtualHomestay”
. They were among the 13 AEC Project Groups that
were established at the conclusion of the Schleswig-Holstein Conference in 2004.
The
AEC Award would be used either to further develop the AEC Project or to
develop
a new project.
The co-ordinators of the three existing AEC project Groups, “Cultural Kaleidoscope 2005”, “Peace Project” and “The World in a Book” would be further developed to incorporate more interesting themes and topics to involve more students. |
