| The
fourth installment of the International Teachers’ Conference
saw the biggest number of online learning projects being initiated
in AEC history. A total of nine new projects were endorsed at the
conclusion of the Conference, and four out of five AEC Projects
completed from the last International Teachers’ Conference
in Bogor, Indonesia, in September 2003 received much support to
be continued.
The 13 AEC Projects from the 4th International Teachers’
Conference are namely:

2. Cultural Kaleidoscope
3. Face-2-Face 2005
4. How Do Your Winds Blow?
5. Multicultural Webquest on mySchool!
6. Online Smart Learning
7. Puppet on the Web
8. Peace Project
9. Science Beyond the Classroom – e-volution
10. Social Entrepreneur
11. The Online Students’ Magazine
12. The World in a Book
13. Utopia@VHome
As with past International Teachers’ Conferences, the AEC
conferred AEC Awards on three of the shortlisted AEC Projects. The
winning groups of the AEC Award 2004 were “iContrast@VHome”,
the “Peace
Project” , and “The
Online Students’ Magazine”. The finalists contending
for the AEC Award at the 4th AEC International Teachers’ Conference
included “Ndolalak and Hambo”, a joint project among
the high schools in Indonesia and Sweden, and “Science Beyond
the Classroom”, a collaboration among the high schools in
Finland, Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam.
The 4th International was organised from 27 September to 1 October
2004 in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, with the support of Kreisgymnasium
Neustadt – an active high school under the AEC network.
